Baptism in the Jail

In November 2016, we baptized 48 male inmates at the New Hanover county Jail.  These are men who have given their lives to Christ but have not had the opportunity to be baptized.

We used a tank loaned to us by LifePoint Church in Wilmington.  Ron Anderson was with me, he filmed the process and baptized those from his class.

We had a delay due to a hurricane, but that lead to only more being baptized.  One day I was taking names (and kicking the devil’s ….) for the baptism and had a lot of support from the jail staff, especially the guards in the pods who see the difference in the atmosphere when men gather for prayer or bible study.  One inmate named Donny has personally introduced over 50 inmates to Jesus and is full of Holy Spirit power and boldly proclaiming the Word.  He was jumping up and down outside a cell where we led a man in the prayer of salvation as a result of asking his cell-mate if he wanted to be baptized.
